FIXED: Running SPi-V app on MacOS
I don't understand what's going on on my side too. I'm sure that I had Spi-V and Spotter both running well a few days back and now, suddenly, all I can get when I try to load an xml in Spi-V or Spotter is the infamous red cross for all images. If I load the panoramic JPEG, then I have no problem. Same goes well with xml from the web on inside a Director app. But with the shockwave projector like Spi-V and Spotter, I just get warning in the debug window (with D key). Even with fieldofview examples. The warning say "WARNING could not load "path/file.jpg" : Invalid URL or not found".
I have tried to repair permissions, trash Shockwave prefs, uninstall and reinstall shockwave, shorten paths but all this to not avail.
Finally, I remembered that I have updated to 1.3.10 then 1.3.11 and that was the source of my problems. Coming back to 1.3.9, I'm able to work with Spi-V application. As soon as I use the 1.3.10 or 1.3.11, it is broken. Do you see anything that has changed in 1.3.10 and that could break all this ?

Re: Running SPi-V app on MacOS
At first sight, not all that much changed between 1.3.9 and 1.3.10 in the loading code. I'll look in to it. It's only with local files in the standalone applications, right?
Update: If I download the current SPi-V app for OS X, I can still drag and drop a file on it and it will display fine. Can you confirm this with a fresh copy from the downloads page?
Re: Running SPi-V app on MacOS
Hello,
have exactly the same problem as elbeuque said, running on OSX.10.4.8 with latest ShockWave Player and the latest standalone spi-v viewer and 1.3.11, all run fine with .jpg but once you want load .xml, the pictures are not loading... actually the xml load because i can see the move of the red square (if i load horizon.xml for example), but no pictures...
i don't have the 1.3.9 version to check out if it may works, any chance to download this older version ?
Thanks for your investigations and keep up the good work
Re: Running SPi-V app on MacOS
Yes Aldo, it's with local files in the standalone applications. If I use Spi-V.dcr v1.3.9, all works OK, but with 1.3.10 and 1.3.11, the local JPEG load correctly, the local XML loads OK too but with XML, no linked file can be accessed. I guess it's a problem with relative pathname from the XML location that are no longer well treated on Mac side. Maybe a mix between "/" and ":" path delimiter that is not well handled ?
When you tried with a fresh download, have you used an XML file or just a JPEG one ? The bug occurs only with an XML that cannot load images described in itself.
Re: Running SPi-V app on MacOS
I see... I used a JPG for testing, I misread that in your post. Still under investigation...
Re: Running SPi-V app on MacOS
Hello,
just find a copy of 1.3.9 version in a website and try it,
it works fine with the older version of standalone version OSX,
but not works in the latest you post yesterday...
