spiv and 3DConnexion's Spacenavigator

Hi guys,
does anybody know a way to make 3DConnexion's Spacenavigator work with spiv (standalone or shockwave plugin) ?
Currently, they have put a SDK on their website http://www.3dconnexion.com/support/4h.php but it is only C++ linux or win...
The solution would be to integrate the "driver" in a standalone .exe ?
Thanks a lot
Simon

It does not look like the SpaceNavigator drivers support any software that is not specifically written to accommodate the hardware. An 'Xtra' would have to be written to support it in SPi-V.
Re: 3DConnexion device should be seen as a joystick...
but unfortunately it is not.
To me, it's a major drawback of 3D-connection hardwares. They should deliver better driver. I think there should be a way for them to deliver a driver that make it seen like a generic joystick with 6 axes and a few buttons. That way, we would be able to use it in Director with xtras like DirectControl and in pretty any other software that supports joysticks like games...
But 3D-connection has not taken that route yet...
