SPi-V tools for Flickr
Flickr, the Web2.0 photo sharing community, has a small but loyal following of SPi-V in the equirectangular group. They are using SPi-V to display their panoramas, directly off the fieldOfView site.
There's now a dedicated viewer to explore panoramas posted on the Flickr service: http://www.fieldofview.com/flickr
This shows the latest photos on Flickr tagged with 'equirectangular'. Alternatively you may want to show a specific image, eg:
photo on flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/aldo/158599142/
same photo in the viewer:
http://www.fieldofview.com/flickr?page=photos/aldo/158599142
As an extra you can use the cubed and cylindered versions of SPi-V as well:
http://www.fieldofview.com/flickr?mode=cubed
http://www.fieldofview.com/flickr?mode=cylindered
This also works with loading a specific photo:
http://www.fieldofview.com/flickr?page=/photos/aldo/158599142&mode=cubed
If you don't have webspace to host your panoramas, you can now post them on Flickr and automagically view them using the latest version of the SPi-V viewer.

Links not correct?
Hi Aldo,
Been trying some of the links you posted and had a few issues.
http://www.fieldofview.com/flickr on XP2 IE6 tells me to upgrade the browser or enable Javascript. I'm on XP SP2 IE6 with Javascript enabled so I'm wondering if there's an issue with the browser detection script. The link works for me on Firefox.
http://www.flickr.com/group/equirectangular/pool/ link to flickr gives a pages not found message
fixed the link
It's 'flickr.com/groups/eq...' (note the s), thanks for the heads up.
As for the javascript enabled thing... odd. Does the fullscreen gallery work for you?
>Does the fullscreen gallery
>Does the fullscreen gallery work for you?
yes, it does work but I get a brief flash of text in the top left of the window telling me that I should upgrade the browser or enable javascript. I'd take a screen shot but its only there for a fraction of a second. So.... I can see the web pages its just that there's a very brief warning displayed first, no harm done just not quite correct in my environment.
like I said...
...odd.
The flickr tool and the fullscreen gallery use the same javascript.
The only difference is that the flickr tool is loading the dcr and xml/images from another webserver.
Do you have any special firewall/network security software running?
I'll fix the brief display of the message.
>Do you have any special
>Do you have any special firewall/network security software running?
Could be - I'm behind a corporate firewall right now so its hard to tell whats in the way.
Wouldn't waste any time on it unless someone else says the same thing.
