Shockwave 8.5 compatibility
I thought it would be trickier to get SPi-V to work under Shockwave 8.5, since I was using some Shockwave 10 specific optimisations. I think I have worked around both, making SPi-V safe for version 8.5 of Shockwave. This means many people don't have to upgrade their Shockwave install.
I still have to do some testing on the new version, but for now you can test the Shockwave 8.5 safe version (that should also work fine with Shockwave 10) as follows: When opening a new demo from the SPi-V gallery, replace the show.php part of the url with show85.php, resulting in something like:
http://fieldofview.nl/spv/show85.php?file=../pano-fullscreen/trunk.jpg
(remember you can type any fully qualified url after the ?file= part)
You may want to uninstall Shockwave 10 and install Shockwave 8.5. You can download the Windows version and the OS X version from macromedia.com. The difference betweem 10.1 and 8.5 should be almost nil, but some limitations apply.
Note that the executable viewers will always require Shockwave 10 (unless you include the required Shockwave file with the executable).
Update: Changes committed in version 1.1.0
