FIXED: seams

- i am now seeing black flashing lines on the pc along the cube seams
- the faces also seem to be somewhat shifted and don't gel quite right

System specs

Could you tell me what graphics card and driver version you are using? The black lines are a known issue on the mac, but I thought I had fixed it on most PC configs.

Quadro FX 3000 lines

I am not sure if this is the same issue as the seams as not. The black lines are in the seams but also going across the cube faces in a grid. Occuring on Nvidia Quadro FX 3000 w/ most recent Nnvidia Win XP drivers.

Probably the same issue

Yes, that's probably the same issue. Wouldn't have expected that on NVidia hardware on windows...

Once I have the first version out, I am sure I'll be getting some more feedback on this issue, and set up some tests for people to run to improve this situation.

same seems

I think that it's not a hardware bug on mc, but an OSX bug:
on virtual PC the seems magically disappear!

I saw this problem of seems on some tests I made with 3d director: on the projector, and with the shockwave output...
hope this helps...

No, not just OSX

No, unfortunately it's not just OS X.

You are not seeing lines in VirtualPC because Virtual PC does not support hardware accelleration. SPi-V kicks back into (slow) software rendering, and the software renderer does not have the bug.

will osX 10.3.6 make a difference

the apple site states:
- improved Open GL technology and updated ATI and NVIDIA graphics drivers

i wonder if this will make a difference in spv performance in regards to the seams on the mac . . .

Unlikely

Unfortunately, it''s unlikely 10.3.6 will make any difference. Can anyone confirm?

System Specs

this is happening on my gateway m275xl notebook (still need to test on my desktops).

the tablet reports:
Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller

TabletPC

I still haven't had the chance to test a tablet (or a laptop) with that particular chipset. When I bought my own tablet, which I love, I was in real doubt what model it would be: A fujitsu slate or convertable, both of which have that chipset.

Then I got my hands on the TC1100 of a friend('s wife) and saw the performance of the SPi-V engine on the Geforce GO chipset, and I was blown away. Bought mine a couple weeks later (after driving my girlfriend mad).

Anyway, looking into those lines, seriously.

not fitting seams on Matrox G450

Hello Aldo,

Tried cubic jpg files yesterday. The cube faces did not fit at the seams in SPi-V stand alone windows. The misalignment was more visible with small cube faces (128x128). A QTVR from the same faces was perfect (using PanoCube Plus).

best regards
Erik
